With the spread of COVID-19, it’s important to understand steps your contractor is taking to help protect you and your family. At The Deck Company, we have families just like you so we’ve taken steps to help ensure the safety of your job site. For that reason, we wanted to update existing and potential clients on our job site COVID-19 safety. The Deck Company has always taken health and safety seriously. If a team member feels bad, they’re encouraged to stay home. Additionally, wearing ear, face, and other personal protective equipment as needed has always been a requirement, as well as reporting unsafe behavior or concerns.

With the rise and continued uncertainty around COVID -19, there there are some additional steps The Deck Company is taking to help protect our team members, clients, and their families. First and foremost, we are following CDC guidelines for COVID-19 as it continues to evolve. What that means is there are some small steps – like social distancing and some big steps like disinfecting the job site on completion.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE STEPS WE ARE TAKING:

Keeping our distance. Don’t take it personally, but we don’t want to get too close. 🙂 Our team members are abiding by the 6-foot minimum social distancing guidelines set out by the CDC. That means we won’t be shaking your hand or giving you a high-five either.

Scrub, scrub, scrub. As a part of our self-contained cleanup system – the “Redbox”, hand-sanitizer is available for our team members at each site. We want our employees to be able to clean their hands any time they feel the need.

Clean shared equipment to reduce the risk of the virus spreading. We provide sanitizing materials so equipment can be cleaned by team members as needed. Of course, due to the nature of construction, gloves are frequently worn, reducing the risk of transfer on equipment.

Remember the manners your Momma taught you – we’re focusing on heightened respiratory etiquette. Keeping our sneezes and coughs to ourselves. In addition, we make sure the job site is picked up and clean at the end of the day.

Don’t risk it if you feel under the weather. We encourage our team members to stay at home if they feel under the weather or experiencing any COVID-related symptoms.

As the COVID situation continues to evolve, we will update our processes to do all we can to help support the health and safety of team members and customers alike. If you have questions about or processes, please feel free to reach out to us directly.
