What is Rain Escape

There are several brand names for under-deck drainage systems. The two market leaders are RainEscape by Trex, and Dry Below manufactured by Deckorators. The under deck drainage system is a series of troughs and gutters that run through your deck, below the decking material, and out of sight. When it rains, or snow melts on your deck, these gutters capture the moisture and push it to your yard via downspouts. By doing so, the system allows the patio area below your deck to serve as a covered patio. Furthermore, once you have the system installed, the underside of your deck is covered with tongue and groove cedar, to conceal the system. As a result, you can safely add electrical for lighting, ceiling fans, or even televisions. This allows you to create a customized outdoor living experience, reflecting your personal style.

Let’s not forget the importance of the dry below system keeping moisture away from floor joists. By doing so, rot and decay in the sub-structure of your deck are. As a result, the lifespan of your deck is greatly extended. It’s a real deck saver!
